1. Overview
This policy explains how KitchenDesign ("KitchenDesign," "we," or "us") handles information in the KitchenDesign iPhone app and its supporting generation service. KitchenDesign does not require an account and does not use advertising trackers.
2. Data we process
Content you choose to submit
- The room photo you select for a new design.
- Your room type, selected style, change level, quality choice, and any optional description.
- A focused refinement instruction and the stored response identifier needed to continue the same design.
- The generated image while it is returned to your device.
Service and reliability data
- A random installation identifier created by the app. Our Worker converts it to a one-way hash before it is used for job ownership, rate limiting, and operational correlation. It is not the Apple advertising identifier and resets when the app is reinstalled.
- Request and job identifiers, operation type, selected image quality, status, timing, model identifiers, token usage, estimated processing cost, and error information.
- Standard network metadata, such as IP address, request headers, device or app user agent, and approximate processing region, may be handled automatically by Cloudflare, OpenAI, and internet infrastructure to deliver and secure the service.
Purchases
Apple processes payment details. KitchenDesign receives StoreKit product, transaction-verification, subscription-status, and entitlement information needed to deliver plans or credit packs. We do not receive your payment card number.
Data we do not request
KitchenDesign does not ask for your name, email address, phone number, contact list, precise location, health data, or an advertising identifier inside the app. Support email is optional and is processed only when you contact us.
3. How we use information
We process the information above to:
- Create and return the design or refinement you requested.
- Keep an accepted job running while you change screens or lock your iPhone, then reconnect the app to the result.
- Protect jobs from being retrieved by another installation, apply rate limits, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot failures.
- Measure service reliability, latency, model usage, and processing cost.
- Verify App Store purchases and show your current entitlement and on-device credit balance.
- Respond if you contact support.
Where applicable, these activities are necessary to provide the service you request, to perform our agreement with you, or for our legitimate interests in securing and improving the service. We do not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, build an advertising profile, or use IDFA.
4. Service providers
KitchenDesign uses the following providers only to operate the app:
- Cloudflare runs the secure Worker between the app and OpenAI, applies rate limits, and provides operational logs and traces. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
- OpenAI processes the selected photo and instruction to create the requested design and stores response state so background jobs and focused refinements can work. See OpenAI's Privacy Policy and API data controls.
- Apple provides the App Store, StoreKit purchases, photo-picker or camera permissions, and system sharing. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
These providers may process data in countries other than your own. Where required, transfers are protected by the providers' contractual and legal safeguards.
5. Retention and deletion
- On your iPhone: projects, original room photos, generated results, job identifiers, and credit state remain until you delete a project, delete the app, or iOS removes app data. Deleting a design removes its local photos and version history.
- Our Cloudflare Worker: the Worker does not save raw photo bytes, generated images, descriptions, or refinement text in application storage or custom application logs. Structured operational logs and automatically generated request metadata are retained by Cloudflare for no more than 7 days under the current Workers logging limits.
- OpenAI: KitchenDesign currently uses stored Responses API state so jobs can run in the background and refinements can continue. OpenAI documents a standard 30-day application-state retention period for stored Responses data. Separate abuse-monitoring logs may be retained for up to 30 days, or longer when required by law or necessary to protect services and third parties.
- Support: if you email us, we keep the correspondence only as long as reasonably needed to resolve the request, maintain appropriate business records, or meet legal obligations.
A design saved on your iPhone remains available after provider response state expires, but an older design may need to be generated again before it can accept another AI refinement.
6. Your choices and rights
- Do not select Generate if you do not want the chosen photo and settings sent for AI processing.
- Use the in-app Delete action to remove a saved design and its local version history.
- Manage photo and camera permission in iOS Settings.
- Manage or cancel a subscription in Apple ID subscription settings.
- Delete the app to remove its local app data from that iPhone. Consumable credits are stored locally in the current version and do not restore after deletion or on another device.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, port, or object to processing of personal information. You may also appeal a response or complain to your local data-protection authority. Because KitchenDesign has no account, include the approximate request date and any request ID shown by the app when contacting us so we can determine whether records can be located.
Make a privacy request7. Children
KitchenDesign is not directed to children under 13, or under the minimum digital-consent age in their country. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. A parent or guardian who believes a child submitted personal information may contact us.
8. Changes and contact
We may update this policy when the app, providers, or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top will change, and material changes will be communicated in an appropriate way.
